Why Support?

There’s a lot of upkeep and work involved in maintaining a website with detailed tutorials and articles! There’s also a lot of time required by astrophotography itself and getting great results demands a lot of investment.

Many content creators and even video makers online are funded in huge parts by their supporters! I don’t run intrusive ads or compromise integrity with other financial arrangements, so donations and funding through this page will be a huge part of my income for the efforts presented on this site.

This is particularly true considering that selling astronomical images these days is incredibly challenging and rarely worth it. Although my participation in the hobby has been very focused (SCT imaging at high focal length), which means I have a lot to offer in the name of tutorials and explanations, that doesn’t necessarily mean my images can compete with the quality of those produced by both experienced amateurs and large professional groups like NASA. Even if I could, NASA releases images for free! This, although great, prevents a very large amateur astrophotography market from opening up.
